Description
Victron MultiPlus 48/20k/250-100 230V Inverter/Charger – PMC483200400
Victron MultiPlus 48/20k
The Victron MultiPlus 48/20k/250-100 230V is a powerful 20kW inverter charger designed for demanding energy storage, backup power and off-grid systems. Built for professional installations, this high-capacity Victron inverter charger combines a pure sine wave inverter, a high-performance battery charger and advanced AC power management in one robust unit.
Whether you are building a large off-grid solar system, an ESS energy storage setup, a marine installation, a vehicle power system or a commercial backup solution, the Victron MultiPlus 48/20k/250-100 delivers reliable 230V power, intelligent battery charging and fast automatic switchover during mains or generator loss.
High power Victron inverter charger for serious energy systems
This Victron MultiPlus inverter charger provides 20kW continuous output power at 25°C and up to 25kW peak power for short-duration heavy loads. It supports a 48V battery bank and offers up to 250A maximum battery charge current at 25°C, making it suitable for larger battery storage systems where fast charging and strong inverter performance are essential.
PowerControl and PowerAssist technology
The Victron MultiPlus 48/20k/250-100 includes PowerControl and PowerAssist to help manage limited grid, shore or generator supply. The unit can automatically take account of other AC loads and use spare available power for battery charging. When demand rises above the available input capacity, the MultiPlus can support the supply with additional power from the battery. This helps reduce overload risk and improves system flexibility.
Reliable backup power with fast transfer
The main AC output provides no-break functionality. In the event of a grid failure, or if shore power or generator input is disconnected, the MultiPlus takes over the connected loads in less than 20 milliseconds. This fast changeover helps keep computers, electronics and other important equipment running without interruption.
Two AC outputs for smarter load management
This Victron MultiPlus has two AC outputs. The main output supports essential loads and backup supply. The second output is live only when AC input is available, which makes it ideal for loads that should not discharge the battery, such as a water heater or other non-critical circuits.
Suitable for ESS, off-grid and solar applications
The MultiPlus can be used in off-grid systems as well as grid-connected PV and alternative energy systems. With an optional external AC current sensor or power meter, it can optimise self-consumption and help prevent grid feed where required. In a power cut, it can continue supplying the critical loads. It is compatible with solar charge controllers and grid-tie inverters.
Expandable and easy to integrate
The Victron MultiPlus 48/20k/250-100 supports parallel and three-phase operation. Three units can be configured for a three-phase output. For parallel operation, Victron recommends the external AC transfer switch. The unit also includes VE.Bus communication for parallel systems, remote monitoring and system integration.
Advanced monitoring and remote control options
System settings can be configured with VEConfigure software using the MK3-USB interface. Monitoring and control options include Ekrano GX, Cerbo GX, laptop or PC access, Bluetooth with the optional VE.Bus Smart Dongle, Battery Monitor, Digital Multi Control Panel, VictronConnect and the free VRM remote monitoring portal.
